About Us

Mt. Hamilton Baptist Day Care Centre is a government licensed day care facility which started in 1975. We are an incorporated not for profit centre, governed by a Board of Directors.

We provide high quality child care in a Christian environment.

We are located in two buildings next to each other; 440 Upper Wentworth Street and 450 Inverness Ave. East in Hamilton, ON, in secured access buildings. We are open all year round and can accommodate up to 157 children, ages 3 months to 12 years.

The centre employs only qualified Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) who are registered with the College of ECEs to work in the program with the children. All staff members are required to successfully complete a police check (Vulnerable Sector Check) upon hiring, as well as keep current with First Aid and CPR training. In addition, all staff members are encouraged to keep up to date in the field by attending many Professional Development opportunities on an on-going basis. The Centre supports them in their efforts.

Our Centre places a huge emphasis on building positive relationships; facilitating children’s social skill development at every opportunity. Children's personal growth is fostered through their participation in both individual and group activities.

We provide a program that is stimulating and designed to meet the children's individual needs. It reflects the children's interests and includes daily activities such as creative art, sensory development, music and movement, dramatic play and many opportunities for language development.

“Our Voting Membership has recently changed to include parents of children currently enrolled in the day care to be part of the voting process.  In order to participate in voting (including in our Annual General Meetings and business meetings), members must sign a Statement of Agreement.

Please carefully read the Member Information page, and if you are interested in being a ‘voting member’ and participating in the voting process (and your child is currently enrolled at the centre), please contact the centre to receive a Statement of Agreement.”
